Big Search Engine Marketing Changes and Google

So why the big change?
 Google has seen for some time now that so called Black SEO hackers have gained a lot of ground in page ranking due to their efforts to add links and Social Engineering their websites to the top. 
 
In order for Google to protect its client base it must deliver quality results and this effort buy hackers could damage their credibility. 
 
In addition, Google has become much better at searching content of websites and also has personal search preference data they would like to add to their algorithm.  The use of preference data will result in unique search results for each user and hopefully the results will be more of what each user is looking for.
 
While this might give visitors more of what they are looking for, it will also make it difficult for Webmasters to measure the effectiveness of their marketing plans because page ranking tools will become less effective or ineffective.  Instead of page rank, the measurement of traffic to the site could dominate future analytics.  This change is expected to take 6 months or more before the complete effects will be felt and you can bet that all of our WSI offices are in search of the best methods to measure Website results in the future. 
 
 
What can You do? 
 
To help search engines rank you better you should update the way your Search Engine Optimization works.  Links to your website will have less impact in the future and content will become more important; having updated content will become more important.  You might want to start your own RSS feed or Blog on your Website as social marketing is still very important. You want Google to have all the traffic information possible with regards to your website so if you don't have it yet you need to add Google Analytics to your Website. *
